American Economic Review (בקיצור: AER) הוא כתב עת מדעי לכלכלה שעובר ביקורת עמיתים ומפורסם מדי רבעון בידי האגודה האמריקאית לכלכלה (American Economic Association).
יצא לאור לראשונה ב-1911 ונחשב אחד מכתבי העת היוקרתיים ביותר בתחום.
העורך הנוכחי הוא רוברט מופין מאוניברסיטת ג'ונס הופקינס.
העורך הקודם היה בן ברננקי.
כל שנה מפרסם כתב העת בגיליון מאי שלו, הקרוי Papers and Proceedings, את הדיונים וההרצאות שהוצגו בוועידה השנתית של האגודה האמריקאית לכלכלה.
